From Photo to Frame

My inspiration stems from the things created around us by forces greater than ourselves. We can only emulate these things to an extent, but so much is beyond our ability. The natural wonders around us have stood the test of time. Evolving and changing with the shifts of the world. The greatest subjects of landscape photography stand testament to this. Photography allows the artist to capture these creations in an inspiring light. For me, the creative process doesn't end with the click of the shutter, It extends beyond the image. I think the framework should be a direct reflection of the emotion and character of the original subject. As a photographer, creating the frame, is a way of paying homage to what was previously created.

The more weathered,  nail-holed wood and knotty the better!  I hand select each piece and mill it down to size.
